I watched a tremendous documentary last night. I think it's called "Burning American Flags". Check it out if you can. it was on either IFC or Sundance. In my opinion Wilco is the top active performing band around.

Totally agree about everything said here.

There's a full concert from Merriweather Post Pavilion that you can stream here that kicks off with Art of Almost and I Might. Highly recommended for these two alone.

Seeing them 1/29/12 at the Warfield. Can't wait. Like JOTS says, they need to start doing multi-night runs at the same venue - some of which they do - like 2 nights last year at the Ryman; that would have been incredible - nice vid of same from their site re Art of Almost at one of those shows:

Yeah, runs of shows would be awesome...

I had the chance to go to Solid Sound this summer but passed it up so I could buy Gathering of the Vibes tickets and I've been regretting it ever since...

Also, you know they stream shows from their site in roadcase section? Changes every few weeks with new shows.
Also, the Owl and Bear has tons of show for downloading incluidng Tweedy solo and various side projects. And archive has Banyan shows, some of which have Nels Cline with Mike Watt, Stephen Perkins, and others.

I am familiar with the roadcase and get on there fairly often.
However I was not familiar with owl and bear and that looks like a pretty thorough collection, I like alot of that Tweedy solo acoustic stuff (especially the acoustic version of Spiders(Kidsmoke))

I'd never heard of Banyan before either but Nels Cline + Mike Watt = Must listen. So I've spent the last hour or so rocking out to this one. F'ing INCREDIBLE! Great recommendation!

What were your individual takes on "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart". In the wake of Jay Bennett's passing and some the changes that Jeff has made in his life, I feel they've taken that monumental step in developing exactly what they seem to have wanted to do from day one.

I assume your asking about the film?

It's a fascinating documentary and offers some great moments...I think for me the best moment was Jeff backstage with all the yuppies who got to go to the meet and greet...everyone kept asking if the new album (Yankee Hotel Foxtrot) was going to sound like "Summer Teeth" and he eventually just said. "Yeah, I'm done" and walked right out.

I don't think I've ever seen a man look as uncomfortable as he looked in that scene. Five or six dorks standing there staring at him with their mouths agape
